Spun Mulberry Silk 70% / Royal Alpaca 30% 15/2nm 100g

£16.00 £14.40

This yarn is now in 100g skeins, rather than cones.

A blend of spun mulberry silk and royal alpaca, this yarn is softer and lighter than clouds with a delicate sheen and a gentle drape and a glorious warmth in winter. Only 1% of the alpaca fibre produced in the world is graded as royal alpaca. It has the finest micron count and lacks guard hairs and scales, making it gentle and itch-free.

This yarn is 15/2nm, equivalent to just under 9/2ne in the cotton count system. It is suitable for use with acid dyes, available at many suppliers. Depending on other factors, work with this yarn should weave up to be light but warm. For the knitters, this will knit at about a laceweight.
