For using locks or tightly packed fibre, it can be very useful to have a flicker brush. This has a stiffer carding cloth than a standard comb, which allows it to pull the fibre apart gently without giving way and snagging. Like the Louët hand carders, the flicker has a curved paddle, which I find makes it more ergonomic for me to use, especially on larger fibre projects. This flicker has a 6x10cm paddle and 72tpi (teeth per square inch) carding cloth.
