Rigid heddle looms are 2 shaft looms, allowing the basis of plainweave. But with the right accessories and techniques, the reach of a rigid heddle loom is vast. Pickup sticks sit flat through the warp behind the heddle. To activate the shed they create you, you flip it vertically and a new shed is opened – depending on how you’ve fed the pickup stick through the warp.
The pickup sticks for your Kromski Harp Forte rigid heddle loom have a lovely lacquered finish, with one beveled edge.
Pickup sticks allow for an incredibe range of designs and techniques, and remember to try pickup sticks of different lengths, for localised effects in parts of your warp. You can also use them for specfic motifs, rather than the entire length of the piece you’re working on. It’s really up to you!
