First scarf off this warp has been chopped and hemstitched. I forgot to do the header end but did a bodge job by going back.  I’ll remember in advance next time!

hemstitching

This tutorial was great – very clear and easy to use – and I think I’m in love with hemstitching.

The only problem with this design is that the pink  band has a totally different tension than the rest of the scarf, which is plainweave. This makes sense since the pink section is unbalanced but still frustrating. I didn’t do anything fancy like use a second beam to get appropriate tension. It’s imperfection I can live with. You can also clearly see the reed pattern if you hold it up to the light. Hoping that washing and finishing will relax that but if not I can deal with it.

Overall I’m very pleased with this design!
